The New 3008 - specs & prices revealed
The all new 3008 was revealed earlier this month at the Paris motor show to its 1.2 million or so visitors from around the world where it was received very warmly. But it was the International press launch which gave journalists the chance to assess the SUV first hand and saw the new model receive critical acclaim with automotive experts such as Top Gear saying “ I suspect some people will walk into a Peugeot showroom and be sold a 3008 in less than 60 seconds.”
The car is promised to be the most advanced Peugeot ever sold with plenty of in car tech and a lower overall weight improving fuel economy and handling. The previous generation 3008 was a mix of MPV and SUV but the new model will rival the Qashqai’s and Tiguans of the industry segment.
The raised ride height and bold front end have contributed towards the 5 star Euro NCAP safety rating and massively improved the visibility and although the cars external dimensions have been reduced there is more cabin space than before. Thanks to the longer wheelbase there’s plenty of room in the rear seats and boot – substantially more than you’ll get in the Qashqai or the Renault Kadjar.
As far as tech goes, the 3008 is expected to be the first car in the range to feature the second generation i-Cockpit system. With class leading connectivity the 3008 will feature both Android auto and Apple CarPlay allowing you to control your smartphone’s apps from the cars touch screen system.
"The latest Peugeot 3008 is a deeply impressive SUV with a competent driving experience, low running costs and a state-of-the-art interior." – Car Buyer 4.7/5*rating.
Set to go on sale in the UK June early 2017, the 3008 will start from £21,795 for the petrol engine and £22,845 for the diesel, while the plug in Hybrid is expected to be closer to the £30,000 mark. The model will come in 4 specifications Active, Allure, Gt line and GT with several engine sizes available.
